About Reverse Mortgages

A reverse mortgage is a loan secured by your home. Like any loan, it must be repaid — generally when the last surviving borrower no longer lives in the home as a primary residence (for example, on the sale of the home, when you move out, or upon death). The borrower (and any non-borrowing spouse, where applicable) remains responsible for:

• Property taxes
• Homeowner's insurance
• HOA dues or condo fees, if applicable
• Maintaining the home in reasonable condition
